Jessica Morgan is a New York City based actress, improviser, educator, and director. After receiving a BFA in musical theatre from Missouri State University, Jessica relocated to New York to begin her education at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Jessica currently performs at the Broadway Comedy Club with Blank! The Musical, a full length improvised musical, and at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre with the weekend team Bucky and with the musical improv team Rumpleteaser. Jessica is also a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company. With TourCo, she not only performs at universities and corporate events, she also teaches workshops that places an emphasis on simple agreement and emotional play.
As an educator, Jessica has worked for Royal Family Productions and Three Legged Chair, Inc. Jessica's role in both of these organizations is to bring performance arts education to schools in New York City such as The Chapin School and Avenues: The World School. In these educational environments, Jessica has choreographed, directed, and scripted original works. Alongside collaborator Jenny St. Angelo, Jessica has created a voice and movement for the improviser workshop series. The series aims to give improvisers tools to safely and dynamically utilize their body for practice and performance.
Currently, Jessica is working as a writer and director for veteran storyteller Jean Le Bec's one woman show. Jessica and Jean recently workshopped the untitled project at the Barton Booth residency MAKE ROOM on Governor's Island. The residency afforded the pair space to discover new avenues for the piece through improvised movement.
Along with her weekly performances at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Broadway Comedy Club and other comedy theaters around New York City, Jessica's favorite performance opportunities have been the role of the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods at Crane River Theatre, Woman in The 39 Steps at Arundel Barn Playhouse and Carnelle Scott in The Miss Firecracker Contest at Tent Theatre.
